Thom Weisel Inducted into Hall of Fame – USSA

Longtime US Ski Team supporter Thom Weisel will be one of eight athletes and sports builders inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017. Weisel will be inducted in April of 2018 at an event hosted at Squaw Valley, where the 1960 Olympic Winter Games were held.

Thom Weisel of San Francisco, CA is one of eight star-studded skiing athletes and sports supporters to be inducted into this year’s US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017. The induction will take place in April 2018 in Olympic Valley, CA, where the 1960 Olympic Games took place.

U.S. Alpine Ski Team Nominations 2017-18

The U.S. Ski Team announced its alpine nominations for the 2017-18 season on May 25th, 2017. Kipling Weisel was named to the Men’s B Team following his strong performance in the previous season, when he ranked 4th overall in NorAm standings and snagged the overall title for the alpine combined.

U.S. Alpine Ski Team Nominations 2016-17

50 athletes have been nominated to the U.S. Alpine Ski Team for the 2016-17 season, among them Kipling Weisel.  According to the the U.S. Alpine Ski Team announcement, “each athlete accepting the nomination to U.S. Alpine Ski Team receives a high level of world-class program support, along with access to the USSA Center of Excellence, as well as athletic benefits including an elite coaching, sport science, sports medicine and high performance staff, and education opportunities.”
